Now lets talk about the Mock Test strategy - Most of the students ask the following 3 questions... 1] When should I start Taking the mock Tests - After completing the syllabus or from this point of time itself? 2] How many mocks should I take? 3] My mock tests scores have stuck. how to increase the scores? So, lets discuss each of the above question one-by one. -------------- So, for the 1st question, I suggest that you should start taking the mock test within the 1st month of your CAT Preparations. i.e. once you feel that your have brush up the basics Maths concepts, and also solved few RC passages and few LRDI sets. Remember onething - during the first 5 mocks, your focus should not be on scores, but to understand what kind of questions are being asked, how to pick the right questions, and how to go through all the questions in that section in the limited time. Talking about the 2nd question, one should try to take at least 25 mocks before taking up the actual CAT. If you feel that your Mock test scores are stuck at a particular point, its time to change your strategy. For example, if your accuracy is low, that means you are over attempting the question in that section. So, you can try to reduce the number of attempts and try to get more correct questions. Similatrly, if you are consistantly going wrong in TITA question, you can either try to improve your accuracy or focus a little more on MCQs...
