| Video Discription | Hargeisa and London based Rashid Ali Architects have been commissioned by the Somaliland Presidency to design the first purpose designed and built public space in the city of Hargeisa. The project is a wider initiative and masterplan for the area by proposed by President Muse Bihi and overseen by the Director of the Presidency, Mohamed Ali Bile. As well as the pavilion, it also includes the construction of new Somaliland National Museum and the reconstruction of the Kheyriyadda monument. Rashid Ali Architects is an award-winning architectural practice. Key projects include the competition winning Victoria and Albert Museum main souvenir shop and the Common Room at Hargeisa Town Hall, which was awarded the 2021 AJ Small Projects Award; the first project in Africa to win in the award’s 26-year history. #ishastudio @rashidaliarchitect |
