Many are talking about the potential for a "lost decade" in investing, so let's see what Vanguard has to say about it. First and foremost, we'll break down Vanguard's Capital Markets Model (VCMM), a powerful financial simulation engine that drives their investment outlook. It incorporates three key factors: the Global Dynamic Model, Attribution Models, and a Simulation Engine to model the probability of distribution of outcomes. These elements come together to shape their projections. Next, we discuss the fixed-income category, focusing on bonds. While bonds show slightly higher average yields, we touch on why some investors may not favor them. We'll then take a look at Vanguard's proprietary economic tracking model and how it has been relatively accurate in predicting GDP growth.
