| Video Discription | ‘There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free’ is as significant today as it ever was. Today is the start of NAIDOC week, the National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee. There will be celebrations and affirmations of the traditions, achievements and voices, the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture, connection to Country, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The call to affirm the humanity and dignity of every person on earth is as critical today as it ever was. This applies to nations, communities, organisations, families, and of course, the Christian community. In our work and travels, Judy and I have been richly blessed to immerse ourselves in a variety of cultures and to count some of those people as close friends with whom we share their anguish and joy in love, faith and respect. Our family includes, Australian First Nations, together with people from Bougainville, Papua New Guinea, Afghanistan, Iran and more. Today I will be encouraging us all to be more generous and inclusive with love, country and material substance, looking for ways to affirm what it means to be Christlike in all that we do.
