India, the world's largest producer of millet, has great potential to become the epicenter of millet protein-based products as an alternative to meat, egg and dairy smart protein products. In this programme the efforts undertaken by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), to support research and outreach activities on millets with a focus to revitalise these traditional crops will be under focus.
