Join us: https://bit.ly/3Rz1uCH Tragedy struck Jyotinagar under Chandmari Police Station in Guwahati, when an 8-year-old boy drowned in a drain amid heavy rainfall on the night of June 4. The incident took place at around 11 pm when the child, along with his father and cousin, was returning home on a scooter. Due to the heavy rain, the vehicle lost balance and fell. Witnesses reported that the father immediately jumped in to rescue his son, but the boy was swept away by the strong current in a matter of seconds. Following the incident, officials from Chandmari police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) reached the spot and initiated a search operation. Unfortunately, they were not able to trace the child. On Friday, the grief-stricken father went to the spot and tried looking for his child.
