Though for almost a year since Gujarat Assembly elections, Hardik Patel showed no particular interest in joining any political party, but today Hardik Patel joined Congress. He entered the party in the presence of Congress President Rahul Gandhi, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress General Secretary in-charge Priyanka Gandhi vadra in Ahmedabad. The party is conducting a high-level Congress Working Committee meeting there. A few days ago Patel had announced on Twitter that he will enter Congress on March 12. He also indicated that he is willing to contest upcoming lok sabha elections. He said that if there are no legal hurdles and the party is willing to field him as a candidate he would happily do so. The talks are he may contest the loksabha election from Jamnagar in Gujarat. Currently, BJP's Poonamben Maadam is the MP from Jamnagar.
