| Video Discription | I am a planner. I plan things way ahead of them and up until their execution I live in that awkward limbo of imagining and re-imagining them. I have been planning my first solo trip and because I plan way ahead I got the best deals on travelling and accommodation. Cool, right? Burn-out at the door suggested me a break long ago and I was finally gonna get one! But so it happened, that my plans coincided or rather clashed with covid and I had to lock myself in. "Locked out of heaven", I thought to myself with cancellations and refunds. Life was terrifying outside but inside my little bubble, it seemed rather simple. Wash your hands , wear a mask, eat healthy and workout. It was a break afterall. Wasn't it? But it didn't seem like one. Isolation, the lack, weighed much heavier than I had imagined. When the world is spinning around , with not much in my hands, I would like to waltz. I would like to celebrate the absurdity of these bleak times.Of living and dying. Isolation isn't a companion but a void that sucks the spirit out of you. I have been trying to articulate the void and the remedy of it when I came across this poem. Although not much it did to soothe the lines on my forehead ,it did tell me," I feel the same". And that was enough. To me , that was enough....Himani |
