London-based law firm filed an application with the British police, accusing the Indian army chief and home minister of war crimes in Kashmir, as per an AP report. Meanwhile, in an interview with news channel Times Now, General Naravane said that human rights 'work both ways'. He said that the Army is expected to observe human rights of terrorists in 'letter and spirit', but the rights of security personnel 'get glossed over'. "The soldier in uniform has the right to life, the right to not get pelted by stones," he said. General Naravane said that the Indian Army maintains the moral high ground as it is a professional force and observes human rights, and follows laws of the land to the fullest extent. Earlier, news reports said that law firm Stoke White had filed an application with the Metropolitan Police's War Crimes Unit, accusing the Indian forces of torture, kidnapping, and killing of activists, journalists, and civilians. The law firm reportedly wants the British police to arrest Shah and General Naravane when they set foot in the UK. The law firm reportedly claimed to have based its report on more than 2,000 testimonies which were being collected since 2020.
