Dr. Joe Schwarcz has a PhD in chemistry and is director of McGill University's Office for Science and Society, which is dedicated to demystifying science for the public, the media, and students. He teaches a variety of courses in McGill's Chemistry Department and its Faculty of Medicine with an emphasis on health issues. Dr. Joe has received numerous awards for teaching chemistry and interpreting science for the public, including the Royal Society of Canada's McNeil Award and the American Chemical Society's prestigious Grady-Stack Award.
