It was hard to teach some students who were under this rule ā knowing they could only make a limited amount of trades. But what is it exactly? Well, itās meant to prevent traders who have less than $25,000 in trading capital from making more than three day trades per five trading days. But this is only for traders who use margin accounts. The same rules donāt apply to those who have cash accounts. Thatās just one loophole. Another one is making overnight plays. Iāll get into that more in this video. Overnight plays donāt count as day trades, but thereās a caveat ā¦ They can be much riskier if you donāt have a solid plan in place. So tune in to see how to best execute overnight plays ā donāt just hold any trade! Also, if youāre new to trading and the PDT rule applies to you, realize it can actually help you.
