Here I am showing you how to screw up a ceramic coating, and exactly how to fix it when you do! Learning how to apply ceramic coatings is one of the most important thing a professional auto detailer can do today, and for that reason, we put out content that can help you LEARN ON YOUR OWN! But what about making ceramic coating mistakes? What if you do something wrong? Here I am applying a professional grade ceramic coating called "diamond" by a company called System X because this ceramic coating has a 0 second flash time and is designed to last up to 8 years. That means this is one of those ceramic coatings that can EASILY develop high spots, streaks, and other not so good ceramic coating consequences. Well, let's say you apply a professional ceramic coating and you get a high spot.... what do you do? What if it looks streaky? What if you forget to buff off the ceramic coating ALL TOGETHER??? In this video I apply this professional ceramic coating to the car paint... I do not wipe it off... and I let it dry COMPLETELY! Yes, this is the most extreme ceramic coating problem you can have, but if you know how to fix this, you know how to fix anything! What are the simple steps to correcting a professional ceramic coating mistake? 1. Identify the TYPE of mistake. I am going to share with you the different types of mistakes in this video. 2. Decide how aggressive your polishing/paint correction measures need to be given the mistake. In this video we use a medium cut pad with a non diminishing abrasive polish. 3. Preform some simple paint correction and look at the results. Fixing a ceramic coating mistake really can be this easy.
