| Video Discription | Cine film from 1964, showing a Steam train passing Hucknall Central Station, then Linby Colliery & Station. The steam from the buildings, next to the Linby Headgear is from the two Robey winding engines used at Linby 1922-1986. One of these can still be seen working at “Papplewick Pumping Station”. The Linby Colliery signal box & the one at the Station are now at “The Midland Railway (Butterley)”. The last shot in the film is looking at Linby Station; back towards Linby Colliery at Wighay Road where the Robin Hood line crosses’s now. Then a Steam train leaving “Hucknall Byron” station (now the tram stop) then under the coal conveyor from Hucknall No 2 pit onto Butler’s Hill & under the old tin bridge. |
