Both are crowded. The maximum track capacity on the Warangal route is 150 km. Indian Railways intends to connect major highways in the two Telugu states through a high-speed rail corridor. The Ministry of Railways is making plans to have these high speed corridors from Hyderabad to Vijayawada to Visakhapatnam and from Kurnool to Vijayawada. Trains run at a speed of 220 kmph. The Railway Department has invited tenders for engineering and traffic study related to these two routes. The company is going to be selected soon. The organization will submit a report in 6 months on which route of high speed train will be profitable. The estimated cost will be clarified only after receiving this. Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam route starts from Shamshabad International Airport. Railways hopes that all major cities in both the states will be connected with the international airport. The survey will be conducted on all three routes. After the completion of the survey, the route of Warangal and Khammam to Vijayawada, Nalgonda and Guntur to Vijayawada and Suryapet highway will be known. People from Rayalaseema region in AP take longer time to reach Vijayawada. If the high speed rail corridor comes, the travel time will be reduced significantly. Currently it takes 12 hours from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam. Durantho reaches Visakhapatnam at 10.30 hrs and Vande Bharat at 8.30 hrs.
