| Video Discription | The National arts theatre is the primary centre for performing arts in Nigeria, the construction was completed in preparation for the Festival of Arts and culture (FESTAC) in 1977. It has a 5000 seater main hall with collapsible stage and two capacity cinema halls all of which are equipped with facilities for simultaneous translation of 8 languages. Each of the cinema hall can accommodate 350 individuals. It has an exhibition hall with 1500 sitting capacity, a conference banquet hall which sits 1000 persons, a universal studio of arts, a section where artworks and paintings are made by highly skilled sculptures. The theater also has an underground car park of 250 capacity amongst others. The edifice and the whole complex is now undergoing rehabilitation and redevelopment which is estimated at a cost of $50 million which will be financed by the bankers committee in a public private partnership (PPP) with the federal government of Nigeria. The national theatre will be redeveloped into a creative hub for film, fashion, music and information technology (IT).
