| Video Discription | Indie Music by Ichabod Todd. Copyright 2009. This song was recorded with John Houston in his studio. Musical arrangement and piano are performed by me, guitars and drums performed by John Houston. This is a dark piano rock song with highly emo lyrics. I was in a very dark place when I wrote this - at work, at home and within my social circles. I am grateful for music, and for the ability to artistically express what I was feeling at the time. During such times music can be therapeutic. So this song was inspired by the hit TV show "Dexter", and after viewing the first two seasons I sat down at the piano and this is what resulted. Ideally I would not have used a piano - I'm not quite sure what my brain's ear intended. John added a twelve string guitar over the lead piano part which added some interest (I think a 12-string is also used in the Dexter main title theme song). The lyrics are a bit melodramatic but the music tries to reflect the darkness within us (aka "Dark Passenger") that we often suppress or ignore. Copyright 2009. |
