| Video Discription | Here, Padma Shri Mr. Jawahar Lal Kaul talks about the validation, significance and the truth behind the Instrument of Accession and the letter written by Lord Mountbatten to Maharaja Hari Singh. The Instrument of Accession was a legal document which was first introduced in year 1935 under the Government of India Act 1935 and further used in the year 1947 in order to allow the then rulers of princely states to accessed to one of the new formed dominions , i.e. either India or Pakistan. Shri Jawahar Lal Kaul, born in Skardu (Pakistan occupied J&K). Mr. Kaul was previously the senior editor of Jansatta newspaper for 20 years. He recently was awarded the "Padma Shri" by President Pranav Mukherjee.
