| Video Discription | A questioner relates an experience on a Vipassana retreat where he started feeling very tired after every meditation to the point of being completely exhausted, falling ill and getting to a state where he couldn’t do anything. Why did his body react that way to Vipassana meditation? Rupert says your body-mind system was in rebellion because you were confronting its normal mode of operation and cutting off its usual avenues of avoidance. In your case, instead of the mind rebelling by generating thoughts, images, feelings and so on, it generated symptoms in the body and got you to where you basically can't do anything. But there's no merit at all in getting to a place where you can't do anything, unless, it's a prelude to the recognition of your innate peace. I don't mean any disrespect to the vipassana tradition - you can go that way, but it's not necessary.
