| Video Discription | Uttarakhand recently organized a four-day Millet Festival called Shri Anna Mahotsav in Dehradun. The festival aimed to promote the cultivation and consumption of millets native to the state. Many farmers and food entrepreneurs from across the state participated in the event to showcase their millet-based products. The festival marked an important step in promoting millets and providing farmers and consumers with valuable information. In recognition of India's efforts, the United Nations has declared 2023 as the International Year of Millets. The state government is actively supporting millet cultivation in the region through various schemes while the millet crusaders are striving hard to bring it back into the mainstream by presenting them in a more effective manner. These initiatives not only increase farmers' income but also encourage them to produce more millet products. During our visit we met some extremely passionate entrepreneurs working with these native grains like amaranth, pearl millet, barnyard millet, foxtail millet etc. We were pleasantly surprised to come across an amazing array of millet backses food items both traditional and contemporary ones.
