| Video Discription | It feels really bad when we don't get an allotment, especially when their is a bumper listing gain. However, Is there anything we can do to increase the chance of getting an allotment for our IPO application? Well, yes, let's discuss them briefly: 1. Avoid big applications: SEBI’s allotment process treats all retail applications (less than Rs 200,000) equally. So, don't assume if you apply for 4-5 lots from a single Demat account you will surely get an allotment. 2. Apply via multiple accounts: Instead of applying 4-5 lots from a single account, apply from different accounts such as siblings, spouse, etc. 3. Bid at cut-off price / higher price band: Let's assume a price band is from 209-220 for an IPO, then apply at 220. 4. Buy parent or holding company shares: Having at least a single share of the parent company in the Demat Account will make the investor entitled to apply through the Shareholder Category. However, this trick is not applicable for all the IPOs. Bonus Trick: Avoid last-moment subscription: It is to avoid technical difficulties like UPI mandate approval, or bank account is not responding so that you don't miss out on an opportunity to apply through all the accounts you have thought of.
