The electoral authority says that Pezeshkian got more than 16 million votes out of about 30 million cast in Friday's runoff. He was the only reform candidate allowed to run. His rival, hard-liner Saeed Jalili, an ultraconservative who opposes reviving nuclear negotiations with the West, got fewer than 14 million votes.
