An encounter broke out between police and terrorists in Udhampur district early morning on April 28. Based on inputs of movement of suspicious individuals late evening on April 27, J&K Police activated security grid in the area. One Village Defence Guard (VDG) was killed in the gunbattle. As tensions gripped the area, security forces reached the spot to hunt down and eliminate terrorists. The area has been cordoned off and massive operations have been launched in Udhampur.
