| Video Discription | Jain Style Chana Dal Servings - 4 INGREDIENTS Washed Split Bengal gram - 200 grams Water - 700 milliliters Water - 500 milliliters Salt - 1/2 teaspoon Yogurt - 150 grams Turmeric - 1 teaspoon Red chili - 1/2 teaspoon Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon Salt - 1/2 teaspoon Oil - 2 tablespoons Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon Curry leaves - 12 - 14 Green chili - 2 teaspoons Water - 200 milliliters Coriander - 1 tablespoon Coriander - for garnishing PREPARATION 1. In a bowl, add 200 grams washed Split Bengal gram, 700 milliliters water and soak for 20 - 30 minutes. 2. Take a pressure cooker, add soaked dal, 500 milliliters water, 1/2 teaspoon salt and cover it with lid. Cook until you hear 2 whistles. 3. Open the lid and sir well. Remove it from heat. 4. In a bowl, add 150 grams yogurt, 1 teaspoon turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon red chili, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt and mix it well. 5. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a heavy skillet, add 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida and stir well. 6. Add 12 - 14 curry leaves, 2 teaspoons green chili and stir well. 7. Add prepared yogurt mixture and cook for 2 minutes. 8. Cover it with lid and cook for 10 minutes. 9. Open the lid and stir well. 10. Add boiled dal and cook for 2 - 3 minutes. 11. Add 200 milliliters water and cook for 2 minutes. 12. Cover it with lid and cook for 10 minutes. 13. Open the lid, add 1 tablespoon coriander and cook for 2 minutes. Remove it from heat. 14. Garnish with coriander. 15. Serve hot.
