| Video Discription | A demonstration of the sound made by a dog clicker or "clacker", (a Karen Pryor product, made in China). The price was $7.99. This one is certainly suitable for training dogs, but what I really wanted was a 'clacker' that made a much louder sound than this one! Inspired by the movie "The Longest Day", where American paratroopers invading Normandy in 1944, use clickers (or 'clackers') to identify each other after they land in the dark. If the paratrooper heard somebody approaching, he would give one 'click' with his 'clacker', and if he received two 'clicks' in return, it meant the person approaching was a friend and not a foe. It should be mentioned that all the paratroopers engaged in this particular operation were issued with 'clackers' before the mission. So...the device is what I call a "clacker", but the sound made by a 'clacker' is described as a 'click'. |
