Here are some key takeaways from our first ever annual conference held in Pune, Maharashtra on 22nd & 23rd June, 2019:
1. From the C.E.O., Mr. Rakesh D. Shah:
ARK 2.0 also known as ARK Supply Chain Solutions Pvt. Ltd. will stand strong on the 4 pillars, i.e. Team ARK, our Business Partners, Customers & Operational Excellence - all built on the sturdy base of our core values, which are namely, commitment, customer centricity, discipline, innovation & respect for all.
2. From our Director of Business Development in North & West India, Mr. Kamlesh D. Shah:
Customer service is an attitude, not a department. For a client to be happy with you, there's 6 different criteria to fulfil, which are:
a.) Having the right approach and a positive attitude
b.) True interest in providing the best and nothing but
c.) Take action & be proactive in getting things done and solving problems or anticipating them
d.) Always have a kind & understanding tone when conversing with business colleagues, clients & staff
e.) Ensure your body language is that of enthusiasm to learn, understand and work
f.) Maintain calm & composure at all times without reflecting any concerns in your voice
Some critical skills required for being a good customer service executive are: clear & honest communication, civility, cheerfulness & tact, empathy & compassion, diligence & thorough product knowledge.
3. From our Director of Operations n South & East India, Mr. Yomesh Shah along with our Director of Business Development in South & East India, Mr. Santha M. Kumar:
Business Development depends on innovation, marketing, management, investment, projections, strategy, research, planning and execution.
A key insight into one of our core values, 'integrity' is shown by how we behave when no one is watching. 7 things that people with integrity do:
a.) Doing what you commit to do
b.) Taking responsibility
c.) Taking care of ourselves
d.) Thinking of the big picture
e.) Respecting others
f.) Checking the mirror to ensure you're every thing that you're expecting
g.) Stand up for what is right & wrong
Team ARK also took a pledge at this summit:
"We at ARK, value professional & personal integrity above all else. We achieve our goals by being honest & straightforward with all our stakeholders. We earn trust with every action, every minute of every day."
They also touched on the 5S objectives that we urge our teams to follow for accident free man hours with minimum machine downtime:
a.) Maintain a clean & systematic work space
b.) Effective time & resource management
c.) Elimination of wastes & inconsistencies at the work place
d.) Streamline processes through regular internal audits
e.) Recognition through rewards & appreciations
Actively practicing the 'Theory of Constraints' that helps in identifying the most important limiting factor which you may also know as a 'bottleneck', that stands in the way of achieving a goal and then systematically improving that constraint until it is no longer
the limiting factor.
4.) From our Director of Operations in North & West India, Mr. Anil Gupta:
The supply chain industry is growing at 26% p.a. which means the jobs in the industry are also growing by 26% p.a. However, the manpower availability ratio is at a 6:1 ratio, which means for every 6 job vacancies there's only 1 person available to do it. There is a continuous adaptation & welcoming of automation to create better efficiency. And automation will make today's skilled staff tomorrow's unskilled staff. But the good news is that ARK plans to expand in the coming years, which means we require more manpower, processes, learning & training. This is why we need all of our employees to evolve their mindsets into that of businessmen that get reimbursed for their time & skills at a fixed profit and expect to grow with us by enhancing their skills.
5.) From our Director of Finance & Operations, Mr. Anand Mehta:
The finance & accounting team maintains daily transaction records, prepares periodic financial statements, reports to different stakeholders, ensures statutory compliances are adhered to, processes wages, salaries & expenses, coordinate financial audit activities, monitor financial processes & performance, forecast profit & loss and assign budgets, manages working capital, and plan business expansion. This team works endlessly to ensure everything moves smoothy at ARK without any hesitations and all that work with us are without complaints.
For one to lead a life without sudden financial hurdles, one must plan smart, manage expenses with care, try and stick to a fixed budget, grow more through smart investments and reduce costs where ever possible.
The underlying umbrella thought across presentations was to motivate our colleagues to never stop striving for excellence in all that they do!
