| Video Discription | Giripremi’s 10 members climbed the world’s third-highest peak at the dawn of May 15, 2019, and made a new world record as 10 members from the same organization made to Mt. Kangchenjunga on the same day. It was the biggest successful civilian expedition on Mt. Kangchenjunga to date. Giripremi’s Ashish Mane, Bhushan Harshe, Rupesh Khopade, Prasad Joshi, Anand Mali, Krishna Dhokale, Sr. Sumeet Mandale, Vivek Shivade, Kiran Salastekar, and Jitendra Gaware unfurl Indian tricolor on Mt. Kangchenjunga. The expedition was successful under the leadership of Umesh Zirpe. It is the seventh successful 8000er meters expedition under the leadership of Umesh Zirpe. Before this, Zirpe led successful expeditions on Mt. Everest in 2012, Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse in 2013, Mt. Makalu in 2014, Mt. Dhaulagiri and Mt. Cho Oyu in 2016 and Mt. Manaslu in 2017. Umesh is the only leader in India to achieve this feat. Giripremi’s Kangchenjunga Eco Expedition 2019 was unique in many ways. The route opening Sherpas on Kangchenjunga this season have worked under the guidance of Umesh Zirpe. There were also dozens of climbers from all over the world including Italy, Germany, Argentina, Bulgaria, Singapore, etc. who also climbed the peak. All the teams from across the globe praised Zirpe and Giripremi team for the great help on several fronts. Maya Sherpa (Nepal) and Khoo Swee Chiow (Singapore) who had failed attempts on Kangchenjunga last year managed to climb the peak this time. They credit their success to Umesh Zirpe’s leadership and management skills. Another highlight of the expedition was four Sherpa siblings- Chhiji Norbu Sherpa, Phurba Sherpa, Tenzing Sherpa, and Pasang Sherpa climbed Mt. Kangchenjunga on the same day and made a new world record. All these Sherpas were climbing with the Giripremi team. Their record is eligible for The Guinness Book of the World Records.
