| Video Discription | This video is about how I transformed my garden from what is was when I moved into this home ,to what is today. It took alot of manual labour and hard work and I didn't want to get any landscapers involved to help out, so me and my husband carried out all the work ourselves over the last 4 years or so. It was a long but pleasurable process to see the garden change over time. The very first thing we did was remove at 35ft high tree that didn't look very nice in the middle of the garden and actually made the garden look alot smaller than it really was. This was really hard work as we had to dig a 4 foot deep hole around the trunk of the tree and chop off all the main roots, and saw down the tree to fell it. We added a tree stump killer, and then we covered the hole with lots of topsoil and levelled the ground. The back of the garden has a patio area with lots of decorative stones which we didn't like the look of because it was a bit unsafe for small children, so I had removed all these stones, and some paving stones that were running through the middle of the lawn and levelled the rear grounds with topsoil . We created a new lawn with seed and this process started in early autumn and took approximately six weeks for the new lawn to establish. We then worked on creating two new borders on either side of the fenced part of garden. We planted a variety of roses bushes, hydrangeas, and other perinnieal varieties of plants like dalias and I have lavender and Oleander, winter hardy banana tree. Finally we renovated an exisiting cobble stone paved circular patio with low height flowers such as Begonia, Gernaium, Marigold, and lavenders. In the centre of the circular patio we fitted a baskets tree and planted trailing petunia in them to showcase the colours throught out spring and summer.
