| Video Discription | Ustad Khurshid Khan was a distinguished sitar preceptor and music director of Bangladesh. From boyhood he started learning sitar from his maternal grandfather Ustad Ayet Ali Khan,younger brother of Sursamrat Ustad Alauddin Khan. Ustad Khurshid Khan, a devoted artiste of the Seni Maihar Gharana,started his career as a music teacher. Then he joined the Gov. Radio station and later Bangladesh Television and retired from there. He was also a teacher of ‘Chhayanaut’, a pioneering music institute of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Government awarded him ‘The Independence Day Award’ for his contribution in music. Reenat Fauzia, a disciple of Ustad Khurshid Khan comes of a world-renowned family of musicians. She is the grand daughter of Ustad Ayet Ali Khan, Surbahar player and a legendary maestro of music of the subcontinent. Her father, Mr. Mobarak Hossain Khan is a distinguished musicologist and litterateur and mother Mrs. Fauzia Khan is a famous vocal artiste. Her uncles Ustad Abed Hossain Khan, Ustad Bahadur Hossain Khan are famous names in the same field. Reenat completed a five years certificate course on Sitar from ‘Chhayanaut’.
