| Video Discription | Monks have held the Jang Guncho, the winter debate festival, for centuries. The first Nuns’ Jang Guncho took place in Dharamsala, India, in 1995. Usually an annual event, the Nuns’ Jang Guncho is an opportunity for nunneries in India and Nepal to gather together to train in and practice debate. Due to the pandemic lockdown, nuns weren't able to travel for a Jang Guncho in 2020. Khachoe Ghakyil Ling Nunnery (Kopan Nunnery), the FPMT nunnery in Kathmandu, Nepal, however, had their own Jang Guncho this year with just Kopan nuns. On the final of the debate festival, September 15, 2020, #LamaZopaRinpoche and Khen Rinpoche Geshe Chonyi attended and listened to the nuns debate.
