He was waccompanied by Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat and Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army Manoj Mukund Naravane. He took stock of the current situation at the border by interacting with senior personnel of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. The Indian Army jawans chanted ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ as Prime Minister Modi arrived at the Nimu base in Leh early in the morning.
