| Video Discription | All Women, Married Or Unmarried, Entitled To Safe & Legal Abortion: Supreme Court In a significant judgment, the Supreme Court today declared that unmarried women are also entitled to seek abortion of pregnancy in the term between beyond 20 weeks and upto 24 weeks arising out of a consensual relationship. The Court ruled that exclusion of unmarried women who conceive out of a live-in relationship from the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Rules is unconstitutional. Pertinently, the Bench also held that that the meaning of rape must be interpreted to include "marital rape" for the purpose of the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act and Rules.
