| Video Discription | “We had AK-47s put to our head.” War photographer Lynsey Addario talks about being kidnapped in Libya by Gaddafi loyalist forces and held hostage for a week. Having photographed war, death and destruction all over the world, she arrived in Libya in February of 2011 to photograph the beginning of the Arab Spring. Having risked her life to travel into a conflict zone, Lynsey was among a group of journalists who were kidnapped by Gaddafi loyalist forces. While she was held hostage for a week, she was sexually assaulted and wondered if she’d ever see her family again. Lynsey gives us an intimate insight into the devastating reality of the revolution that happened across the Middle East, using her photos to build up the sense of chaos, resilience and human loss.
