| Video Discription | - My name is Danielle Skiles and I'm a licensed mental health counselor at The Everett Clinic. From a young age I always knew that I wanted to help people, but growing up, I noticed that there was a shortage of people talking about mental health needs and people actually being able to serve those that needed help. I went to Northwest University to receive my Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, and then realized that I wanted to help people on more of a one-on-one basis. And so continued at Northwest University in their grad program to receive my Master's in Counseling Psychology. After I graduated, I started working at a community mental health agency, and then I started a private practice. And then from there went to a nonprofit agency and now I'm here at The Everett Clinic. My approach to patient care is client-centered. I really wanna meet the patients where they're at and really get to know them to figure out what tools work best for them. I think patients will find that I am kind and nonjudgmental and really want to hear their story and that it's a safe place that they can talk about whatever they need to, and I'll be there to help them. I chose to work at The Everett Clinic because I've always had really great experiences with the clinic. Everybody's always been very professional, very kind, and it seemed like a family environment. And I knew it would be a great place to work. I think it's important to offer the care that we do because there's a shortage of people out there helping others with their mental health and it's not talked about enough. |
