| Video Discription | The select committee of the Rajya Sabha achieved a breakthrough of sorts when it came up with a unanimous report on the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Bill. In a rare show of unanimity, the INC and the BJP agreed to delink the creation of Lokayukta, or the state-level corruption watchdog, from the central law. The Select committee also has left the Prime Minister's decisions concerning external and internal security, atomic energy, international relations and public order from the purview of the proposed anti-graft law. The Select Committee has recommended the setting up of a Directorate of Prosecution under the Central Bureau of Investigation. |
