I was like, 'Oh I need this, I've gotta get this one'. It was love at first sight." Despite their love, the interracial couple are subjected to heaps of online hate and abuse. Sam explained: "When we first started posting online we were making memories because we love travelling and then it quickly turned into a lot of hate." In the real world, things are just as tough. Talking about the reactions they receive in public, Kristina said: "Sometimes if I look out of the corner of my eye, I can see the heat come from that person." Reflecting, Sam said: "It's very sad actually because we live in a diverse world. Everywhere you go now, you see brown, white, any kind of colour. So for the people who think like that in 2024, it's sad to me. The world has a lot of work to do and I hope in the future it's going to get better."
