The film features Mohanlal, Katha Nadi, Sonalee Kulkarni and Danish Sait. Written by P.S.Rafeeque, the film marks the first collaboration of director Lijo Jose Pellissery with actor Mohanlal. The film is produced by John& Mary Creative along with Max Labs and Century Films. Manu Neelakandan handled the cinematography while editing is by Deepu Joseph. Prashanth Pillai composed music for the film. Malaikottai Vaaliban the inaugural Malayalam film of the year, has received an enthusiastic response during its pre-release bookings, establishing an impressive opening for itself. The film's booking had started six days before its release. According to reports, the film has so far collected between 2 crore and 2.50 crore from Kerala. Trade analysts reported that the film achieved a remarkable feat by selling over one lakh tickets in Kerala within a single day. The predetermined opening collection stands at Rs 1.5 crores. The initial screenings are scheduled to commence at 6:30 am on January 25 in Kerala.
