| Video Discription | Floods In Imphal: Days after Cyclone Remal wreaked havoc, Manipur’s Imphal continues to bear the aftermath of it. Heavy rainfall has caused flooding in several parts of Manipur. Streets and houses are swamped with rainwater creating hurdles for the people to lead normal lives. Pedestrians also faced difficulties navigating through the flooded streets. Thousands of people affected by the recent flood are still reeling under hardships at Relief Camps. Flooded houses are not feasible to stay, as most of the floors of the houses are of earth soil, and muddy debris has filled up the rooms. The State Government is providing relief materials and organising medical camps at different places for the flood-affected people. Governor Miss Anusuiya Uikey along with the Imphal East District Administration inspected the flood-affected area at Nagaram Speaking to ANI, a local said, “We are having an acute problem regarding this flood situation. The people living here are being evacuated from this place. Children and elderly people are suffering quite a lot. I would like to appeal to the concerned authorities to take certain measures to combat the situation. We are also facing the water crisis and electricity.” Speaking to the media, DC of Imphal East Khumanthem Diana Devi said, “Imphal has been affected by incessant rain because of the cyclone Remal. A huge number of villages have been affected by the cyclone. The water level has receded, however, there are still some places where the water level is yet to recede so that people can go back to their houses and live normal lives.
