| Video Discription | St Margaret’s Waddingworth in Lincolnshire is not high architecture, but it is typical of many English medieval churches that have been gently restored over many centuries. It is a very simple country church building that is all the more delightful for its complete lack of pretension. The church sits in the middle of a farmyard, which claims to be the centre point of Lincolnshire and there is nothing else in Waddingworth apart from the farm – the village has long gone. It is miracle this church has survived at all - it has long been redundant and is now in private hands. That has probably been its salvation -, as it has been lovingly restored and maintained by its present owner over the past thirty years, who generously keeps it open for visitors – it is a wonderful haven of peace. |
