According to the Interior Department, gunmen blocked roads throughout Michoacan and ambushed police patrols in at least six different locations throughout the day. It was reported that the assailants were equipped with high-powered rifles and grenades. They blocked roads with buses and other vehicles. Two federal police were killed and 15 were wounded in the shootouts. Twenty assailants were shot dead, and 15 others were arrested. |
