| Video Discription | HOW TO SOUNDCHECK THE MIC These tips are valid for everyone (not just emcees) including public speakers, singers, presenters, stand up comedians, etc. The purpose of a soundcheck is to: 1. Know whether the equipment functions properly. 2. Identify where the feedbacks are. 3. Identify the distance of the frequency coverage. 4. Tune the equaliser and volume that suit your voice/performance. 5. Get used to the environment before the act. 6. Minimise the possibility of any unwanted issues. 7. Maximise the quality of performance of the speaker/performer. 8. Ensure both the performer/speaker and sound engineer are ready. Remember, soundcheck is not a rehearsal. It's an act of testing and tuning the sound equipment before a performance to produce the desired outcome. Most people disregard soundchecking because they think it's irrelevant.
