| Video Discription | Bryoni Govender was appointed as Miss Universe South Africa after she was 1st Runner-Up to Natasha Joubert at Miss South Africa 2023. Natasha already represented SouthAfrica at Miss Universe back in 2020 and went unplaced. Bryoni first competed at Miss South Africa in 2018 (The year after Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters who was Miss South Africa 2017 also won Miss Universe 2017). At Miss Universe 2018 Bryoni finished in the Top 12 while Tamaryn Green became Miss South Africa 2018 and finished as te 1st Runner-Up to Catriona Gray at Miss Universe 2018. Allegedly according to Sameera Shah, there is some bad blood between Miss Universe India 2023 Shweta Sharda and Bryoni Govender.
