| Video Discription | The Amazon Writing Exercise is one of those things which can cause a lot of drama for the perspective Amazon employee. The reason for the exercise is simple - Amazon is very well known for being a document heavy company. Every meeting where a decision is to be made has a document that is written by the person who is running the meeting. Annual operational plans require documents. Hiring and promotion requires documents. Writing is super important. I didn't realize how much anxiety this exercise was giving candidates until my video on how I would approach the Amazon Writing Exercise (as a former senior executive with the Kindle team) if I was going back. I was even more surprised when people started asking for me to look at their writing samples. There are a few recurring themes that I have seen which are giving rise to documents which are not quite ready for Amazon submission. In this video I have pulled together the top three mistakes I have seen which have a serious impact on the perceived quality of the documents.
