On the occasion of inaugurating the new Parliament building, he reminisced about various historical events related to the old Parliament building, in the context of celebrating 75 years of Parliament's existence. During his speech, he brought up the topic of Andhra Pradesh's bifurcation. He expressed the view that the division of Andhra Pradesh was not executed properly and failed to appease the communities of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Modi acknowledged the challenges and bloodshed that accompanied the formation of Telangana, stating that even after its creation, the state couldn't fully celebrate its existence. Indirectly, he criticized the Congress by highlighting that while the formation of Telangana took place in the same Parliament building, the division of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana didn't happen in the same way as the divisions of states like Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh. He mentioned that the division of these three states was planned during Atal Bihari Vajpayee's regime, and celebrations ensued.
