In Madhya Pradesh a temple worth 100 crore is going to be built, and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to lay the foundation stone for the temple. On the other hand, the price of onions is likely to skyrocket in the month of september. Onion prices are likely to start shooting up in the retail market towards the end of August, to around ₹60-70 per kg next month due to tightened supplies. The temple is dedicated to social reformer Sant Shiromani Ravidas, who has large admirers and followers across the country and especially among dalits. The temple will be built in 10,000 square feet, a interpretation museum will also be built to display the philosophy of the saint. This comes ahead of the assembly elections of Madhya Pradesh which is likely to be held by the end of this year. The temple worth Rs 100 crore will be inaugurated by PM Modi on Saturday in Sagar district of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan went to the site and took stock of the preparation. The CM further stated that PM Modi will also address a public meeting at this occasion. This is going to be PM Modi’s third visit in about a month to the state of Madhya Pradesh. BJP expects 2 lakh people to attend this rally and the foundation laying ceremony. The ongoing samarsata yatra of the ruling party will also be concluded in this programme. Both of these programs of the PM are seen as an attempt by BJP to reach out to the Dalit population ahead of the assembly elections. Dalit followers of Sant Shiromani Ravidas form a major part of the Scheduled Caste population of Madhya Pradesh. Now, what about the daily food products, which the common public needs? Is the government going to work on the shortage of onions, which the country is likely to face in coming weeks? According to the reports, the onion stock is expected to decline by the end of August owing to reduced self-life and panic selling in the month of February. From January to May this year, a fall in onion prices had offered some relief to consumers facing costlier cereals, pulses and other vegetables.
