The manifesto is also a throwback to the BJP election manifesto of 2014 as it repeats the allure of Ram Mandir construction, return of Kashmir Pandits to the valley and scrap Article 370 that gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir if it comes back to power. The press conference to release the manifesto spoke more about the achievements of the past five years rather than including any new idea. Is the BJP manifesto more about consolidating its core voter base? Is the BJP manifesto more practical than the Congress manifesto which included a radical promise of minimum income guarantee?
