The route is considered one of the easier sections of the Manali-Leh highway, offering a scenic ride on a high-altitude plateau. Here's what you can expect: Distance and Terrain: The ride is roughly 45-55 kilometers with an elevation gain of around 200-400 meters. After an initial climb of about 5 kilometers, you'll be rewarded with a relatively flat ride on the More Plains (also called Mori Plains or Kyunga Chu Thang). More Plains: The More Plains, or Kyunga Chu Thang, is a highlight of this route. This vast plateau stretches for about 40 kilometers offering stunning panoramic views. The name "Kiang Chu Thang" translates to "plain where the kiang (Tibetan wild ass) does not find water" due to the arid landscape. The average elevation is nearly 4,800 meters, making it a true high-altitude experience. The road is flanked by beautiful mountains on both sides and in some places, runs along the Sumkhel Lungpa River, featuring stunning sand and rock formations. High-altitude Beauty: The surrounding landscape is high altitude and dramatic, with barren terrain, colorful rock formations, and snow-capped mountains in the distance. You might even spot some nomadic herders and their livestock along the way. Debring: Dibring is a small, temporary settlement with basic accommodations in tents or huts.
