There are stories of unfair recording deals, low royalty payouts from streams to artists, lack of knowledge who the consumers are and the list goes on. There are a few projects out there that are currently targeting some of the issues within the industry. For example Royal will enable the consumer to own a part of the artists music through Limited Digital Assets (enhanced NFT's), so that the income generated by the streams can be shared with the fans. They will have their first drop Tuesday 11th of January, when 2 singles of Hip Hop Legend Nas will be available on their platform. Own a part of the song, receive a percentage of the royalties. Sound aims to reward investors with real life experience, for example through real life or virtual concerts, meet & greets, exclusive merchandise, NFT airdrops and so on. They have an NFT marketplace, where you can buy and sell Music NFT's and they are building their app and a streaming platform as well. Audius has a fully decentralized music streaming platform with about 6 million monthly consumers. It can be the blockchain rival of Spotify. Artists will get 90% of the music revenue, the other 10% goes to the nodes supporting the network.
