There's an assumption amongst Canadian Muslim leaders and organizations that Canadian Muslims are upwardly mobile, professional and wealthy. Sureya Ibrahim lives in Regent Park, a community that is populated by many Muslims who are struggling to make ends meet. She says Canadian Muslims often think that if they set up a food bank, they're doing enough. She cautions that people don't want handouts.
