The plot of the film takes place in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The main character, Detective Megan Page (played by Elizabeth Rhyme) from the Rochester Police Department, is faced with a series of brutal murders of young girls. All victims have double initials in their first and last names. This leads to the name “double initials” murders. While searching for the killer, Megan struggles with her demons, as she herself suffers from schizophrenia, which complicates her work and prevents her from solving the case. Her internal battles with the spirits of her past intensify with each new murder, and she risks losing control of herself. In addition to Megan, her partner Ken Weber (played by Cary Elwes) and psychiatrist Jameson (played by Timothy Hills) play important roles in the film. They try to help Megan not only solve the case, but also keep her mind and sanity in the process.
