The AI in this game has two main ways of avoiding wrecks. - The reasonable option is to be on a different racing line from where the wreck takes place. (This is demonstrated by #6 and #52 here.) - The comedy option is to no-clip through the whole mess of cars and then just drive away as if nothing had happened. (This is demonstrated by #47 and #70 here.) I'm not quite sure why the latter option is even possible. (Is there some kind of performance optimization in place that causes the game to pick and choose which cars have hitboxes and which cars don't?) The car damage model texture glitch (with the right quarter panel displaying a mirrored texture from the left quarter panel) can be seen here on the #00 car; it's more noticeable here than it was on the #4 car in the previous video. |
